The Bourneford community is feeling rather special of late as the Anglican Church has set up a proper parish church and parsonage to benefit the small but emerging community. It's a great sign that not only more people will come to live in Bourneford but that there will be a house of god to serve all those in want and need. St Paul's Parish is rather a small but rather simplistic beautiful parish, fitting Bourneford's personality. But when you step inside one can find it actually feels quite large, being able to fit 57 sims at most in the pews...
The inside of St. Paul's is rather dim due to small windows but the candlelight rather does make it a cozy space, of course in the front is the pulpit with the bible on it. Nearby to the bible and pulpit is a table that boasts an adorned cross, money collection pan, and a pitcher and basin for holy water. Behind the pulpit of course is also a tall cross and a bookcase for other religious-oriented books which the community can choose to access whenever they visit. The nice white rug also feels quite luxurious, being a rare sight in rural Bourneford. Overall it is definite that the parish will be a nice place for every single family.
Behind the parish lies quite a nice parsonage. It is a rather nice home with five bedrooms upstairs and even two indoor bathrooms (for my simmer convenience). The home has rather quickly been decorated by the Parson's wife, who moved her family and their things to Bourneford in rather a hurry due to her husband's rather quick decision to leave behind his life in a well-established and comfortable parish for life here in Bourneford.
John is rather a bit older than his wife, who still has a bit of proper adulthood left before she becomes an elder. He is a Fortune sim with Popularity second and has the traits of Mooch, Snob and Never-Nude. As you can likely gather he likes wealth and prestige...the first likely being hard to find in Bourneford but we shall let him live in his delusions. Polly Slocum is a rather practical and plain woman, but don't ever forget that she is a woman of grit. She is a Family sim with Knowledge secondary and has the traits of Brave, Handy and Light Sleeper. Then there is the heir, Ford, who likely will take the position of Parson once his father dies or retires. Ford doesn't much like the idea of living in such a rural and unintellectual place like Bourneford but he has made his bed and must lie in. He is a proper adult compared to his siblings, thus he is a Knowledge sim with Popularity second. His traits are Hydrophobic, Avant Garde and Snob...surely he was and still is a coddled child. Then next in the order is Mercy who is Friendly and a Cat Person, while the idea of moving over-whelmed her upon setting foot in Bourneford she had a feeling it was home. She also happens to be a popularity sim and is desperate to make friends. Then there is little Rachel, who has the trait of Loves the Heat and is much loved by her whole family. Polly's labor with Rachel wasn't at all easy, so thus every meal they thank god for the blessing that was the survival of both mother and daughter. Overall, this family will certainly add something interesting to the story of this emerging hamlet.
I am also pleased to share that there is now a Village Green which is welcome to all. In the center is a memorial to the three founding families of Bourneford, which reads as "This memorial is to pay honor and respect to the founders of this great small community. There have been many hardships but also many joys, thus these people serve as reminders of the greatness and strength of the British citizen. We shall remember: Mr. & Mrs. Edward Fairchild, Mr. & Mrs. Nathaniel Estmore and Mr. & Mrs. William Bray." Despite that beautiful (yet historically patriarchal) memorial standing as the center and focal point of the Green, there are other great amenities such as the access to not only a nice walk, but art easels and chess tables. Truly I imagine this Village Green will be a great place to talk with friends and meet new people!
